IMPORTANT NEWS!

First of all I'd like to apologise to you for some of the inconvenience you may be experiencing when listening to Live365 stations, including the WALL OF SOUND.

I wish there was something I could do to avoid this for you. I felt an explanation was needed so I will do my best to cover what's happening right now....

As you will know from the Save Net Radio page on this website, Live365 is in a desperate position currently, as are the broadcasters, with increased royalty bills dating back to the very start of 2006! Yes 2006! Live365 have appealed against this ruling and the appeal has been accepted. I will bring you news of the appeal date shortly. Most of us feel that it is very unlikely that the ruling will be overturned and this spells doom for all of us & the end of internet radio. Meanwhile Live365 are endeavouring to claw back some additional income and also make savings as they face a massive bill for these increased royalty rates since 2nd March 2007 and of course the backdated amounts from January 2006. Unfortunately listeners who are NOT VIP's will now be hearing advert breaks every 12 mins which is very annoying but we hope you will understand the reason for these additional adverts which bring in some extra revenue for Live365. In addition to this you may have noticed the 'ARE YOU THERE' campaign... Your listening may be interrupted to confirm that you ARE still there and listening. This is to ensure a stream isn't left on without being listened to - in other words a dead stream, which will still be costing Live365 or the broadcaster, royalty fees (the fees are now per listener, per song). While I can understand Live365's reasons for this I am very much against it and know that it will be very annoying to our listeners. I can only hope that your patience will allow you to bear with us at this desperate time and that we wont lose too many of you due to this annoyance. I personally am deeply sorry it's happening.
